Dr Patricia Shinondo is a Paediatric and Neonatal Surgeon, one of only 11 in the country and Zambia’s first female Paediatric Surgeon. She pioneered and currently heads the Paediatric Surgical Unit at the second largest teaching hospital in Lusaka Zambia – Levy Mwanawasa University Teaching Hospital.
Her unwavering commitment to advocacy for doctors’ welfare and clinical excellence has seen her serve in several roles in organizations including as the current Vice President of the Women in Surgery Africa (WiSA), current Vice President of the Zambia Association of Paediatric Surgeons (ZAPS), and as the immediate past Vice President of the Zambia Medical Association (ZMA).
An active advocate & trainer of corporate governance and board member on multiple boards. As a global surgery enthusiast she has served as adjunct faculty in introductory courses to Global Surgery across Sub-Saharan Africa.
